THE IMPACT
Meeting Practical Needs.
Nurturing Lasting Faith.
Women World Changers had the incredible privilege of being part of history in the nation of Peru in June 2019 at the event called Un Solo Peru.
We joined more than 10,000 short-term missionaries from around the world who came together with one purpose, to share the love and hope of Jesus with the people of Peru. During this nationwide outreach, fifteen stadium events were held across the country while thousands of teams simultaneously served in communities through more than 5,400 local outreaches. Together, these efforts reached hundreds of thousands of people with acts of compassion, encouragement, prayer, and the life-changing message of the Gospel. It was an unforgettable picture of the global Church coming together to love a nation well.
Women World Changers was honored to help make this outreach possible by funding 500,000 new believer and discipleship books that were distributed throughout Peru. These resources were placed into the hands of men, women, and children who had made decisions to follow Christ, giving them practical biblical teaching and encouragement as they began their new journey of faith. We believe true transformation extends far beyond a single event. By investing in discipleship, we were able to help equip local churches with tools to nurture lasting spiritual growth, strengthen families, and encourage communities for years to come.
While in Peru, we also had the privilege of funding a clean water well in the city of Chorrillos. Standing beside that well and meeting the families who would depend on it every day brought the reality of their needs into sharp focus. Perched on a hillside overlooking the breathtaking Pacific Ocean, the community was surrounded by beauty, yet many families still lacked reliable access to one of life's most basic of necessities: clean water. It's easy for many of us to just turn on a faucet without giving it a second thought, but for these families, access to safe water changed daily life. It meant improved health, greater dignity, and precious time that no longer had to be spent searching for water. Watching children laugh and families gather around something so simple, yet so life-changing, reminded us that meeting practical needs opens doors to hope. It was a powerful reminder that every gift given through Women World Changers represents real people, real lives, and lasting transformation.
