THE IMPACT
Creating a Safe Place to Heal
When we met Jennie and Marcia, we were amazed at the work they were doing in South Africa and beyond. They are celebrating 25 years of Love that Changes Everything. With faith, courage, and partnership, they have seen God do the Impossible. From a step of faith to a global movement, Kerus has stayed true to its mission – reflecting God's heart through compassion and commitment to the most vulnerable.
They have an orphan care center in Sashanguve, South Africa, where they partner with local schools and churches to provide after school care to 80 orphans and their caregivers. These children of resilience come to the center to receive life-changing care, including a nutritious meal, play, medical care, tutoring, and spiritual development training. They see hearts encouraged, bellies fed and souls awakened by the very love of God.
They built a safe home in South Africa to take care of children who have been sex-trafficked and give them a safe place to live, where they can get proper care, love and place of healing and restoration.
They are courageously imprinting the nations with character-based life skills education, HIV/AIDS prevention and leadership development, while engaging South Africa where they care for the orphan, rescue the vulnerable, and reach the broken. Their mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize professionals, organizations, and faith-based communities around the world to actively address important public health and education issues adversely affecting youth and their families.
We have been able to partner with them to sponsor several children in the orphan care center, we purchased all of the furniture and kitchen items for the safe home, and we have contributed to the curriculum for their courage to care training.
Thank you Jennie and Marcia for answering the call on your life, and allowing us to be a small part of what you are doing in the nations.
