PROJECT AT A GLANCE
THE STORY
From Rescue to Restoration

One of the very first projects Women World Changers had the privilege of supporting became a defining moment in our organization's history. Partnering with Missions.me and Angel House, we helped build a safe home in Nepal for forty young women rescued from the horrors of human trafficking. At the time, many of us were just beginning to understand the reality of this global crisis. Like so many Americans, we assumed trafficking was something that happened somewhere far away. As we learned more, our hearts were broken, but nothing could have prepared us for meeting the courageous survivors face to face.

During our time in Nepal, we sat in a circle with these remarkable young women and simply listened. They shared stories that brought tears to our eyes—stories of unimaginable pain, loss, and exploitation. Yet what left the deepest impression wasn't only what they had endured, but who they were becoming. Through the safety of the home, compassionate care, counseling, and the unwavering love of Jesus, we witnessed something extraordinary. Where fear and shame had once defined their lives, we saw strength, resilience, laughter, and hope beginning to flourish. These weren't women defined by their past. They were daughters of God discovering their worth and courage one day at a time.

As healing took root, the next step was helping these women build independent, sustainable futures. Women World Changers was honored to invest $15,000 toward the construction of a vocational training center where they could develop practical skills such as sewing, cosmetology, and other trades that would allow them to earn a living and eventually operate their own small businesses. What makes this project especially meaningful is that its impact continues long after one-woman graduates. As survivors move into independent lives, the safe home and training center remain, welcoming and equipping the next young women who desperately need hope and a fresh start. While the reality of human trafficking is heartbreaking, our time in Nepal reminded us of an even greater truth: love has the power to restore what evil tried to destroy. We left inspired by the courage of these survivors and forever changed by their determination to embrace a future filled with purpose, dignity, and hope.  We often say we went to Nepal to encourage these young women, but the truth is, they encouraged us. Their courage, faith, and determination reminded us that while evil may wound a life, it never has the final word.
